When I saw John Terry, sprained his ankle and missed the penalty, my heart pounded frantically and 'my belief' shattered. That was the chance for Chelsea FC to be the King of Europe.
Disappointment is not a feeling that can be shallowed easy. When reality sets in, the world seemed to 'stop' for me. Congratulations Manchester United. It is a fact now that the King of Europe 2008 is Manchester United. Nothing can be changed.
Tears, agony and shattered faith is engulfing Chelsea's players and fans. Somehow, the new belief and hope to reach the ultimate goal will be rebuilt in the nearest future for the club. That is what I believe they will do and of course I do hope that their hard work and back-breaking effort will pay off in seasons to come.
I think sports and education are identical in a way that they test your patience, hard work and perseverance. There is a saying that goes, "the roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet". We have to understand that failures are just stepping stones to greater success. As long as the belief, faith and perseverance is still intact and 'alive' in our hearts, there is always ways to achieve the seemed impossible dream.
No matter it is in sports, working life, business or studies, a saying to be always remembered is:
