When the going gets tough, the tough gets going

Since we started Eastern Pride late last year and coming out with MyLearningFriend.com and MyWordsmith & Designs just recently, everything has literally been like a bullet train ride.

Everything happened extremely quickly, and before we knew it, it's already fast approaching half a year since we started Eastern Pride. The many many ups and downs we've been through this past 6 months has been really testing for the four of us. We have our fair share of disagreements too, haha. Life's not smooth-sailing all the time.

We learnt a lot, and most importantly, we know that no matter how tough the road maybe for us ahead, we just have to keep on going and adapt to new situations. I believe that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Success doesn't come easily, and most certainly not overnight.

As long as we're prepared to work hard and go for it, I know we can make something out of our determination.

How did we start a business in education?

With neither a million in our Swiss Bank nor 50 years of business experience, what can the Mouseketeers actually do?

Now it's not that hard actually. Brain and Fussy are up for any business that can utilize their individual skills -- IT and language. And Savvy is one who's actively involved in the education sector. So what can an IT person, a language person, and an education person do?

3 light bulbs were simultaneously lit that very night. Thank you, Thomas Edison.

We agreed on a business in education. Why? Based on our observation, education will never expire and has only proven to evolve to become more advanced in many sense. Education is much like food. You need education, and in this sense, I'm not just talking about textbook education, to survive.

With such great potential in this sector, we honestly felt it would be a good idea to start a website that houses education-related services under one big happy family. Most importantly, an education website will ensure that Brain is still doing IT, Fussy is still doing her language thingee and Savvy is still in education. In short, we are doing what we do best!

This is where our first service comes in. Basically, we offer parents and students our free services in helping them to look for suitable home tutors. At the same time, we are also offering to help tutors in finding home tuition jobs. In this case, a one-time payment is collected as recommendation fees. A fair enough situation.

Now to tell you the truth, if we were just to do just that, Malaysia has already tons of websites running on the same model. We're serious. Now since our service is nothing so original or groundbreaking that will send shockwaves around the world, just what's going to make us different from the rest?

That, we'll tell you next!

The story of MyLearningFriend.com or MYLF actually began with the first 3 Mouseketeers -- Brain, Savvy and Fussy. Yes, we didn't exactly started out as the Four Mouseketeers.

We are no extraordinary people with extraordinary backgrounds. In fact, you can pass us by on the streets just like that and not notice that Brain is walking around in his boxers instead of some decent short pants. Yeah, we are THAT ordinary.

And so on one dark and stormy night, the 3 of us met up at a little cafe somewhere in KL. With the sound of thunder as our accompanying dramatic sound effect, the setting was just perfect to craft our masterplan on how to take over the world. Muahaahaaa............

So now now, since there are just about a trillion types of business out there in this universe, what should the three of us do? We've neither a million as our start-up capital, nor do we have 50 years of experience running a business. And what's worse, the business line does not seem to run in the family too!

None of our family members are business people to start with. Which means we can forget about getting any mentorship from them. We're all on our own in this cold, dark and ruthless business arena. But thankfully, despite being ridiculously lacking in capital and experience, we've still got our brains to thank for.

No... not THIS Brain!

Yeah... THIS brain!

I would like to thank my family genes for giving me a good brain. Hahahah... Just kidding. So how did we go from being nothing to venturing into a business in education? Stay tuned.

Dangerous lady on the loose. Beware!

Okay, so let's just do a little recap here, ladies and gentleman. So far, we've done exclusive coverage on Brain Mouseketeer, Savvy Mouseketeer and of course, our lovely Kawaii Mouseketeer.

And to wrap things up on our little self-intro on the founders of MyLearningFriend.com, I introduce to you, our final Mouseketeer -- Fussy Mouseketeer! Gimme a round of applause puh-leeease...

Fussy Mouseketeer is most possibly the fussiest of all 'em ladies. Don't mess with her or she'll just chew off your head and spit it out like a chewing gum. Scared now? She means business when she's at work. This pretty lady is our writer, our editor and our copywriter.

She is the one to manage every word you see in MyLearningFriend.com and all the love notes your receive in your inbox. Say hello to Minnie Mouse, because she is after all, Brain Mouseketeer's babe.

And now that you know who we four buggers are already, don't worry, we are really nice nice people. Heh heh. So jump on the bandwagon and follow us on our journey to put MyLearningFriend.com on the map!

Stay tuned for more of our stories.

I am cute, but don't mess with me

To balance all the testosterones, let us introduce the estrogens into the big family. We've featured Brain Mouseketeer and Savvy Mouseketeer in our previous posts, so let us all put our hands together for... Kawaii Mouseketeer!

Kawaii Mouseketeer is our latest team member on board MyLearningFriend.com. Don't fall for her sweet and ultra adorable looks because she is one babe you should not try courting if you don't want Savvy Mouseketeer to be hunting down for you. *ahem*

She is the one who manages all our translations to Chinese because all other three Mouseketeers are Bananas in our past lives. Yes, bananas. B.A.N.A.N.A.S.
And she does a great job out of it as well! Soon, you will be able to view our MyLearningFriend.com in Chinese version as well!

Before Kawaii Mouseketeer actually joined this little Mouseketeer club, she would always be silently observing Savvy Mouseketeer as the rest of us would gather at Times Square, our HQ for weekly meetings. And before you know it, Kawaii just couldn't resist our charm and decide to hop onboard and share the fun together.

Thanks to Kawaii, our little Team has now grown into 4 individuals. Next up, the fussiest Mouseketeer of them all. Sit tight people, 'cos she's gonna blow you all away!

No, I didn't get my name from Proton Savvy

Introducing... our Savvy Mouseketeer!!

Oops... haha. Not THIS Savvy!

Now THIS is the Savvy Mouseketeer we're talking about. The man who started it all. He's the Adam, because he's the one who sparked off the conversation about creating a certain dot com that would later come to be known today as MyLearningFriend.com.

Now why would the Team call him savvy? No no... he didn't get the name from Proton Savvy. But he's the man you'd want to have in your sales and marketing team because he can get the best deals around and talk his way through to a handshake.

And sorry to do this to you ladies again, but he's also found his babe already. Heh heh.

No, we are not from the Mickey Mouse Club.

Introducing the Four Mouseketeers...! Yes. We thought it will be good to introduce ourselves, our favourite food, our marital status and our body measurements so that you can get to know us better.

Put your hands up for... Mouseketeer No. 1!

Nah. We were just kidding! Haha. THIS is the hunk we're talking about...

Brain Mouseketeer is the genius behind all the codes. Haha. Yes. He's the one responsible for all the programming and design. He's the brain behind everything IT you see over at MyLearningFriend.com.

He's arguably the busiest Mouseketeer around, constantly driven to hunt for bugs in the system till 4 a.m. everyday. Not to mention cracking his brain over our many new features that we are introducing soon in MyLearningFriend.com.

AND he's a really really nice guy! This is the hunk you should be looking for to answer all your technical and registration problems. But sorry to disappoint you ladies, he's found his Minnie Mouse already. Haha.

So 1 Mouseketeer down, 3 more to go! We'll be introducing our next Mouseketeer soon. Stay tuned!
